How long does it take for concrete to cure?
Concrete gains strength over time; 28 days is a common strength-testing age, not a universal end to curing. Follow the care and access instructions for your pour, since the mix, weather and intended loads affect timing.
Can you pour concrete over existing concrete?
Yes, but only with the right prep. The old slab needs to be cleaned, roughed up, and coated with a bonding agent so the new layer sticks.
How long should I wait before driving on new concrete?
Wait for the go-ahead for your specific pour before driving on it. The concrete mix, temperature and vehicle load affect the timing.
Does concrete need to be sealed?
A suitable sealer can reduce moisture absorption and staining. Choose it for the concrete finish and exposure, and follow its application instructions. Sealing does not make a slab crack-proof.
What's the difference between concrete and cement?
Cement is an ingredient in concrete, which is made by mixing cement with sand, gravel, and water.
What causes concrete to crack?
Common causes include improper curing, rapid drying, temperature changes, subgrade issues, and heavy loads.
How thick should a concrete driveway be?
4 inches thick is the industry standard for driveways. For commercial vehicles or large equipment/RVs, sometimes 5-6 inch applications are recommended.
What is the best time of year to pour concrete?
Mild weather is best - spring or fall, between 50 and 70 degrees. We pour year-round, but we schedule around Louisiana heat and rain.

What types of fences do you install?
Wood, privacy and chain link fences, plus gates. We do not install aluminum fences, and we take on gate repairs only occasionally.
