Residential Concrete Services

You can trust us to handle any of your residential concrete needs.

Driveways

Driveways are installed with 4” thick, 3,000 psi, 10 gauge wire reinforced concrete. Control joints and wooden expansion joints are installed to help prevent cracking. All wooden expansion joints are doweled every 2’ – 3’. All new concrete is doweled into existing concrete to help prevent settling and future trip points. Organic material is also removed prior to fine grading to help prevent uneven settling and future voids beneath the concrete. Driveways have a 4 – 5 day curing time for typical vehicle traffic. Larger vehicles are recommended to wait for a minimum of 7 days.

Patios

Patios are installed with 4” thick, 3,000 psi, 10 gauge wire reinforced concrete. Control joints are installed to help prevent cracking. All new concrete is doweled into existing concrete to help prevent settling and future trip points. Organic material is also removed prior to fine grading to help prevent uneven settling and future voids beneath the concrete. Footing are installed to support the weight of future overhead structures and also to prevent erosion when applicable. These footings will be reinforced with specified rebar depending on the application. Patios can be walked on the following morning or afternoon depending on temperatures. Keep pets off until the following afternoons as well. Keep furniture /accessories off of patios for 2 days to prevent surface scratches. We recommend waiting to install patio covers for 3-5 days after the concrete patio installation.

Sidewalks

Sidewalks are installed with 4” thick, 3,000 psi, 10 gauge wire reinforced concrete. Control joints are installed to help prevent cracking. All new concrete is doweled into existing concrete to help prevent settling and future trip points. Organic material is also removed prior to fine grading to help prevent uneven settling and future voids beneath the concrete. Sidewalks can be walked on the following morning or afternoon depending on temperatures. Keep pets off until the following afternoons as well.

Slabs

Accessory building slabs are installed with 4” thick, 3,000 psi, 10 gauge wire reinforced concrete. All footings will be reinforced with specified rebar depending on the application. Control joints are installed to help prevent cracking. However, some slabs have deep footings and will be treated as an engineered slab just like a house slab. This means that in slabs with a perimeter footing, we may elect not to install control joints since in most cases they will be ineffective on this type of application and unpleasant from a cosmetic standpoint. These slabs could have hairline cracks occur just like in your home’s foundation. Reinforcing these slabs and footings with wire and rebar will make sure the cracks do not open up and remain merely a hairline crack. Organic material is removed prior to fine grading to help prevent uneven settling and future voids beneath the concrete. Anchor bolts can be installed upon request if needed. These slabs can be trowel (slick) or broom finished. The slabs can be walked on the following morning or afternoon depending on temperatures. Keep pets off until the following afternoons as well. We recommend waiting to install overhead structures for 3-5 days after the concrete slab installation.
